Whitehall - Whitehall, Michigan, located in northern Muskegon County about five miles from the Lake Michigan coastline, is named for its location at the end of beautiful White Lake, actually the mouth of the White River at Lake Michigan. It is a commuter town to the greater Muskegon area just 10 miles to the south. Much of its economy is tourist-related, especially its extended marina on the lake. Duck Lake State Park is a 728 acre day use park, located in Muskegon County, featuring a towering sand dune. The park stretches from the northern shore of Duck Lake to Lake Michigan. The terrain is a mixture of open brush land to mature hardwood forest, with some pockets of open meadows mixed in. The land was purchased by the Nature Conservancy from two Boy Scout organizations and acquired by the state in 1974. Remains of the old scout camps were removed and access roads were constructed. The park was officially dedicated in the spring of 1988.

Meinert County Park

Meinert Park is 88 acres and offers sand dunes and spectacular views of Lake Michigan.
Use the natural trail and climb to the top of the dunes for panoramic views of the surrounding area.
Meinert County Park is located on Lake Michigan north of Montague at the end of Meinert Road. Take U.S. 31 to the Fruitvale Road Exit, go right (west) on Fruitvale Road to Whitehall Road, turn right (north) and follow Whitehall Road one (1) mile to Meinert Road, turn left (west). The park entrance is approximately 5 miles at Lake Michigan.
Meinert County Park is open May through September from 8:00 a.m. to 10 p.m.

A shelter is available to rent. The shelter offers picnic tables with seating for approximately forty (40) people, electrical outlets for crock pots, coffee pots, etc. and a large park grill for cooking.

Pioneer Park is a wooded 145-acre park with over 2,000 feet of sandy beach.
Activities include camping, swimming, picnicking, tennis, softball, basketball and volleyball.
Location: located on Lake Michigan on Scenic Drive, north of Muskegon. Take US 31 to the Fremont/Big Rapids (M120) Exit, go south west on M120 to Giles Road, turn right (west) on Giles and follow 5 miles to the end of the road. Turn right (north) on Scenic Drive, the park entrance is one quarter of a mile on the left.
Pioneer County Park is open daily May through September.
A lodge building is available to rent. The lodge offers a large stove/oven for cooking, a refrigerator for keeping your food cold and electrical outlets for crock pots, coffee pots, etc.
The park offers 213 modern campsites with open and shaded sites. A group camping area is available for family, church groups, and camping clubs with up to 27 camping units. All campsites, including the group area, offer water and electric hookups. Other services and facilities include:

Medbury Park
Lifeguard Road off of Old Channel Trail

Nine-acre Medbury Park extends to Lake Michigan.
Both the breakwater and seawall are connected to this park or to State land east of the park and under lease to the City of Montague. The park is open from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.
The park is located on the north side of White Lake Channel in Montague Michigan.
