Silver Lake

Silver Lake is widely known for its beautiful beaches and enormous sand dunes surrounding the lake. It is the perfect spot for a family vacation, offering sand, sun, and fun for everyone. As the only state park in Michigan allowing ORV/ATV use within the park, over a million thrill seekers head to the shores of Silver Lake every summer looking for a great time and to test their off road driving skills. From April to October the dunes are open for vehicles with certain safety requirements to drive around the northern section dunes. Vehicles are availiable for rent, or you can bring your own ORV/ATV if it meets the rules and requirements for the park. If all-natural roller coasters are not what you had in mind for a relaxing vacation, Silver Lake also offers tons of other family activites such as jet skiing/boating, fishing, paraflite rides, jeep tours, dune rides and dune buggy rentals just to name a few! Spend the day relaxing on the shore and sand surfing, or go on a hike and explore the old lighthouse or nearby playground. After a long day of fun on the beach, the village of Silver Lake offers plenty of resturaunts, specialty shops, and lots of fun activities for the kids like mini golf, go-karts, paddle boats, bumper cars, and much more! There is never time to be bored at Silver Lake, the only thing you have to worry about is if you'll have enough time to do all the fun things there are to do in West Michigan's sand playground.
